Doi Suthep and Hmong Hill Tribe Village Tour

Doi Suthep and Hmong Hill Tribe Village

(08.30 - 12.00 am, or 01.30 - 05.00 pm, minimum 2 persons)

Doi Suthep 1

The tour begins with the pleasant winding drive up through forest to the symbolic temple of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, which overlooks the city. We pass between two Naga guardians and climb the long flight of steps up to the temple, where a holy relic is enshrined in a magnificent golden pagoda. We circumambulate the pagoda, as Buddhists have done for centuries, pausing to admire the splendid view over the city and the valley. We drive farther up the mountain, visiting a Hmong hill-tribe village. Originally migrants from China, the Hmong have chosen to remain living in self-sustaining villages, retaining their culture and elaborately embroidered costumes.
